Executive Director Muskingum County Children Services

Dave was born in Carroll, Ohio and have lived his entire life in Ohio and considers himself a card carrying member of the Buckeye Nation. He has lived in 9 different small towns around this great state and none can compare to Zanesville for quality of life and exceptional people. He has been married to his wonderful wife Mary Ellen, who is an equally outstanding educator, for 36 years. They have 2 daughters, Jessie Boyer-Burr and Paige Boyer, both residing in the Columbus area. Dave and his wife have two of the most wonderful grandchildren in Josie and Jennie…wow, they are neat! Dave’s son-in-law, Jamie Burr, is pretty cool as well. He serves his country as a member of the United States military with several recent deployments to the Middle East and is a police officer in the Columbus area.

Dave has been blessed to lead a very challenging yet rewarding professional life. He has served as a live-in houseparent at a group home for juvenile delinquents, college and high school football and track coach, Executive Director of a residential treatment center, college Dean of students, and his current position is Executive Director/Superintendent at Muskingum County Adult and Child Protective Services.

Dave’s Dance Experience:
Like many baby boomers his foray into the world of dance was during his college days (mid-seventies) and took place at Fraternity/Sorority parties, flailing without any sense of purpose or rhythm to songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beach Boys. Baby Boomers everywhere, you know what Dave is talking about.

Fun Facts about Dave:
He is a bona fide track and field nut. He was an All American in college and an age group National Champion in the Decathlon. He has coached track at two universities and five high schools. His fear is that all of his learning and teaching of great footwork in the various track events will not help him with this journey into the world of dance.
