Dorothy is a funeral director and embalmer, and together with her husband Pat, has owned and operated Goebel Funeral Home since 1982. She is one of the pioneers of women in funeral service
in this area. She has lived in Crooksville her entire life and is very devoted to her hometown and county.

Dorothy is a member of National Rifle Association, Ohio Funeral Director Assoc, National Funeral Directors Assoc, Hull Pottery Assoc, Crooksvile Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Post 9090 Auxiliary, and Church of the Atonement Catholic Church. She is a founder of Sounds of Faith Community Choir. Dorothy graduated from Crooksville High School, attended Ohio University Zanesville, and graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. She is an Ohio licensed funeral director/embalmer.

Pat and Dorothy were married in 1982 and together with their mother helped raise Pat’s daughters Amy and Julie. They have 2 grandsons and 3 great grandchildren.

Dorothy and Goebel Funeral Home have been long time supporters of her charity, Perry County Cancer Alliance, as donors to the KAT Foundation (proceeds go to the PCCA). The KAT Foundation was established in honor of Kathy Dodson who died of Non Small Cell Carcinoma, the Goebels considered it a privilege to be chosen as the funeral directors for Kat’s services.

Dorothy has been dancing since she was 4 years old participating in all forms of dance. Dorothy’s dancing diva partner Debbie, is her younger sister.

Fun facts: Hobbies include fishing, the outdoors, gardening, canning, embroidery, crocheting, restoring antiques, and animal rescue. She is the proud parent of 10 dogs, 6 cats and 2 horses, all rescues. She is very active in the fundraising support of her church.
