Gavin attended West Muskingum High School & then enrolled as a student at Ashland University where he graduated in three years with a Bachelors degree in Finance. Gavin worked in St Louis at the Edward Jones headquarters then moved back to the area 3 years ago where he currently resides with his wife, Joanna and their 2 dogs Ryder & Cooper. He & Joanna are both members of the North Terrace Church of Christ. Gavin is currently employed with Edward Jones as a financial advisor & works with his parents, Carol & Brad Mawhorr. Since returning to Zanesville he has become a member of the Local Mason’s group.

In 2017 when Edward Jones was the corporate sponsor for the Alzheimer’s Association walk, Gavin was the team captain for his Edward Jones branch and led them to win the award for the 2017 newest team to collect the most donations. The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization for Alzheimer’s & related dementia. Their mission is to end Alzheimer’s through advancement of research & public policy while providing programs & services that support both the caregivers & individuals living with the disease. Gavin’s dance experience is limited to frat parties. His hobbies are hunting, fishing & golf. He recently returned from a hunting trip in New Zealand where he boasts he shot his first Tahr mountain goat. He is a Buckeye fan & proudly sports his scarlet and gray and yes his pro team is STILL the Cleveland Browns and the Indians.
