Muskingum County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney

John was born and raised in Zanesville, graduating from Bishop Rosecrans High School. He attended the University of Notre Dame and The Ohio State University, Moritz School of Law. He serves as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox, prosecuting felony offenses.

Over his eleven years in the prosecution profession, John has been a repeat recipient of “Trial Dog” awards, has taught numerous legal courses in firearms law and usage, and has attempted to help thousands of victims of serious crime. John is a member of the Muskingum County Republican Club, the Fraternal Order of Police Zane Lodge #5, Zanesville Jaycees, the NRA, Richwood Gun and Game Club, the United States Power Squadron, and both the Muskingum County and Ohio State Bar Associations.

John likes to ride motorcycles, sail boats, shoot guns, and achieve justice, but has no dancing experience of which to speak, which should make things interesting for his partner Kelly Mott.

Transitions Domestic Violence Shelter

Transitions is Zanesville’s domestic violence shelter and court advocacy program. In addition to providing a safe place for victims of domestic violence to stay, Transitions provides advocates who travel to court to assist victims, meet them in their homes, counsel with them, and assist them through the personal and family upheaval caused by domestic abusers. The community may be familiar with their annual event, “Walk a Mile in My Shoes,” but much of Transitions’ important work passes without public notice. John has worked with Dorothy Thomas, a Victim’s Advocate, and is truly impressed with her organization’s work, both in dedication to this important cause, and in positive effect achieved for victims across the community. Please consider a donation to this worthy cause. Transitions Crisis Hotline is 740-454-3213.
