Tara has spent more than 25 years working in the area of fitness and lifestyle improvement and has especially enjoyed working with “seniors in action” group fitness classes. She has also coordinated the Seniors Chair Volleyball program for the past 18 years. Working with older adults in recreation and fitness has been a great job for Tara and this opportunity will allow her to help more seniors gain benefit from the MRC programs.

Previous dance experience: took lessons from Marjorie Holzschuher Sellers from age 4-17.

Fun facts: loves country music, trail running, playing the piano, teaching Pound, Cardio Dance Fuze and Silver Sneakers classes.

“Friends of the Muskingum Recreation Center” Seniors Programs

Tara and Anne are dancing and raising funds for seniors programs funded by Friends of the MRC. The MRC offers many types of classes and activities for seniors such as warm water exercise, fitness equipment, indoor walking track and a variety of cardio, strength and flexibility classes.” We recognize that there are seniors who do not have a Medicare supplement product (like Silver Sneakers or Silver & Fit) that covers the use of the new Muskingum Recreation Center facility and that these seniors do not have the expendable income to afford what the center offers for their health.  This funding will provide financial assistance to those seniors while also supporting additional activities like Seniors Chair Volleyball – which is a free program at MRC.
